I'm Back!

It's been a while, blog world! It's been about a YEAR and just to update the interested parties...NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED. I still don't really have a job that I consider to be a lifelong career, I'm still so broke that I am selling clothes weekly to thrift stores around the area (which consequently has forced me to cut my wardrobe about 50%) just to pay rent, and I still haven't been whisked away by my prince charming (I mean, what gives?!)

So here's a short list of exciting (and maybe not so exciting) things that have happened in the past year:

-Like many, I finally said goodbye to my show LOST...but said hello to the fabulous GLEE.

-I started a new job as a RECEPTIONIST. (Yea, I went to college, in case you were wondering.)
-I got obsessed with Lady GaGa...don't make fun.

-I got a fish and didn't have time to name it before it died.

-I have a new place-which is slowly starting to look like a comfy "grown-up" place.

-My bestie got married, and now my other bestie is engaged and getting married.

-I got to experience the amazingness of the Black Eyed Peas and LUDACRIS in concert. It was EPIC.

-My white blood cells decided to just disappear. (which led to a string of docotors appointments and drama and being sick)

-My hair has grown to quite a length!

-My cousin Cori had the cutest baby in the world! (no seriously, check out her and her husband's blog: http://lawyerandteacher.blogspot.com/)

-I have a new small business plan in the works with my other creative half Ashley.

-I'm in a book club.

-I have almsot completed the entire 10 seasons of FRIENDS.

-I chopped the tips off of three of my fingers (all at different times) which was dramatic, especially living by myself and having NO first aid supplies.

-I started serious realtionships with Coke Zero, Perez Hilton, Charley Harper (check him out: http://www.charleyharperprints.com/), Jonathan Adler, Taylor Lautner (I mean, can you blame me?), Ross, Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey, mid-century modern, http://www.modcloth.com/, and the list goes on and on!

Make It Work

So it's officially been three months since I graduated from college. I mean, I am SO thankful that I don't have to endure the hours and hours of studio homework, and I never thought I would say this but here it is....I kind of miss it! I miss having something to do ALL the time. Now days, I have a pretty boring routine. Wake up, work, go home, do nothing, go to bed, and wake up and do it all over again. Although this boredom is definitely taking some getting used to, it has given me a lot of time to think about what I am actually going to do with my life. As of the moment, I have decided to up and move to NYC next fall (with a job lined up, hopefully) in order to pursue my dreams of becoming Tim Gunn's best friend and prancing around the city wearing absolutely the best clothes and discussing fashion while we have brunch amidst the hustle and bustle of city life.

Ever since I became a Project Runway fan I have been obsessed with Tim Gunn. Every time he utters the words "make it work", I LOVE IT. He just seems like an interesting kind of guy that you would want to hang out with, not to mention that he could totally help me overhaul my near disastrous wardrobe these days that is filled with stained t-shirts and about 13 different pairs of black yoga pants. These days I opt for comfort over looking great and sometimes even forget to brush my hair in the morning....weird I know. I aspire to be a fashionista, but I also LOVE being comfortable in my clothes. All this to say, whether I'm wearing comfortable or couture, I guess I'LL just have to make it work.

Just Blame the Economy

So, it's the aftermath of my senior project. It's 5:11 a.m. and I'm awake up at the studio waiting until the moment that Office Max opens so I can freaking print my project and be DONE. Not only have I finished a project hours before the minute it's due (which is a miracle of God), but I have also mastered the ways of Google Sketchup/Podium which saved me from failing studio and therefore not graduating. Speaking of, graduation will soon be upon me and I still have NO idea what I am going to do with my life. I feel like I have so many options, but none at the same time. Thanks for nothing economy! I blame you for everything. Oh, I totally failed that quiz...it's because of the economy. That person is a horrible driver...again, the economy. I'm broke...obviously the economy (not the fact that I have no financial skills what-so-ever). Me and Gavin DeGraw not being married yet...the freaking ECONOMY! Geez, can't a girl catch a break?!

Anyway, I'm a little delirious and I need sleep. Tomorrow at 4...well, today rather, I shall be FREE!!

Ginger love from West Palm

I am spending my spring break across the country in Florida...a state which, up until this week, I have never been to. I feel like I am in a totally different world. The weather here is amazing, the ocean is beautiful, the people are great, and I don't think I ever want to leave. I am staying with my friend Anna Grace in her apartment with her 4 roommates, who have all so graciously let me invade their tiny space and set up camp for the week. I have been reluctantly trying to work on some of my homework during my free time...key word being reluctantly. I usually focus for about 5 minutes and then wander out to sit on the porch and stare at the water and the palm trees. Being from Arkansas, I'm sure I look like a total tourist...I like freak out when I see the ocean or palm trees or seashells and I bust out my camera like every 5 minutes...it's pretty hilarious but I'm trying to not be so weird about it, at least when people are watching me.

When I got here on Friday evening, Anna Grace and several PBA friends drove up to a beach condo in Ponce Inlet to spend the weekend. It was amazing to say the least and I have some HILARIOUS memories and also a nasty sunburn as souveniers. I think I forgot that the sun hates me...

I don't want this week to end, not only because I love West Palm and all the people I have met here, but also because I DO NOT want to go back to school. I am only 2 months shy of graduation now and the senioritis is worse than ever! I am still undecided on what I am going to do post-graduation but I'm not really worried about it right now. I am just focused on getting through the rest of the semester...oh and I forgot to mention that..........(drumroll please)........I got a new car!!
Thank Heavens...the Buick was a faithful friend to me for the past few years but it was time for it to go. It was replaced by an '08 Nissan Sentra. I love my new car and when I drive it, I don't feel like it's really mine because it's so amazing.  But the best thing of all....it has AIR CONDITIONING!

I now am going to carefully apply some aloe to my red shoulders, drift off to sleep and have sweet dreams in this paradise.

I'm gonna go Sherlock Holmes on your....

So this weekend was interesting....to say the least. I got my purse stolen, along with my makeup bag...straight out of my unlocked car. I know, I know. My fault for leaving it unlocked, right? I guess I just trust people too much these days. Anyway, it has been a big stress trying to put the pieces of my life back together....a new driver's license, Social Security card, student I.D. (and not to mention my iPod that was magically back from the dead). Basically this weekend has really sucked, filing police reports, calling everyone and their dog to replace all my stuff. Moral of the story--LOCK YOUR CAR. But life goes on, that's something that I know I can count on.  Warhol Purse, iPod, and Hobo wallet...you will be missed.

This could have possibly been the worst week of my life. To start things off, while in a moment of pure kindness, I lost $500.00 of my parents vacation money while trying to clean the house and suprise them. Next, while scrambling to get to work on time, I backed into my dad's truck and consequently make a HUGE white scratch down the side of the driver door. When I got to work, I got complaints from a customer about some cookie jar I had painted them(which by the way looked AWESOME if I do say so myself, and It took me like a billion hours to paint it...and which they didnt even pay full price for cause they are rude and mean and cheapskates) and so I had to figure out, in my anger, how to freakin fix this thing for them which was only messed up because of THEM. They wrote something wrong and so I painted it how it was written...but somehow that becomes my fault, right? anyway....then in an attempt to study for my SATURDAY MORNING 7:30 a.m. final I realized I was 30 minutes away from my notebook which I left in my car and it was freezing outside and I didn't even have some essays that I needed to write an outline for my final which was HALF of my grade for the semester in the hardest class I've ever taken.....

But on the bright side of things, I have come to realize alot of important things this week as well. Love is so important. People are important. Realtionships are important. God has blessed me beyond measure. I am confused and astounded everyday by the love and grace that he rains down on my life. I am so undeserving of anything good, yet he continues to give and give and give. He heals my broken heart and renews my soul every day and without hesitation. What kind of love is this!? No matter what kind of shennanigans I get myself into, He is always there, in control and still willing to surround me with his love and His patience, and His peace.

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:"For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
